The rainy conditions did not dampen last night’s graduation ceremonies at IUP for the graduate students. That celebration continues today for the undergraduate students today.
1,195 bachelor’s degrees will be conferred over two ceremonies today, one at 9:00 AM and the other at 2 PM. The 9:00 AM ceremony will focus on students from the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the College of Health and Human Services. The 2:00 PM ceremony will have students from the College of Education and Communications, the College of the Arts and Humanities, the Eberly College of Business, and the University College. IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll will preside over both ceremonies. Student speakers will include Bryony Tilzey of Greensburg for the 9:00 ceremony, and Kiara Williams of Canonsburg will speak for the students at the 2:00 ceremony. The commencement address will be delivered by Distinguished University Professor Dr. Alida Merlo.
Drop off traffic is not permitted on Pratt Drive. Designated parking lots have been set up, and a shuttle service will run today from 7 AM to 4:30 PM to provide transportation to and from the parking areas. More information on the shuttles and links to the live webcasts of the graduation ceremonies can be found on IUP’s website, www.iup.edu/commencement.
