The Pirates visit the team with the worst record in baseball tonight.

JT Brubaker is 0-2 with a 6.20 ERA in five starts going into the game for the Bucs. He’s facing the Reds’ Connor Overton, who is making only his second appearance of the season. He gave up only three hits and one run with no decision last Saturday against Colorado.
The Reds are only 3-22 coming into the game and are on a nine-game losing streak. The pitching staff has a combined ERA of 6.86. Their starters carry an ERA of 8.41. The Reds’ team batting average is only .203.
The Pirates as a team are hitting only .233, and the pitching staff’s ERA is 4.67.
ALTOONA CURVE
Altoona lost to Erie, 2-1. Lolo Sanchez was one of the few bright spots for the Curve at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI double. Starter Kyle Nicolas threw five innings and gave up one run on three hits while striking out six. Reliever JC Flowers took the loss. He pitched the final three innings and surrendered only one unearned run, on two errors by shortstop Liover Peguero in the bottom of the 8th inning.
