Earlier today, the Pennsylvania Department of State announced that its professional licensing waivers issued under the COVID-19 disaster declaration will expire over the next few months.
According to a press release from the Department, the licensing waivers, which were approved in 2020, will expire at the same time the COVID-19 disaster declaration will, and if there is no disaster declaration, the governor or the Department cannot extend the waivers. To further extend any active waiver, Legislative action would be required.
The Department adds that under Act 14 of 2022, all waived and suspended regulations initiated because of the COVID-19 pandemic will end by June 30, unless terminated earlier, and the regulations are said to expire in phases beginning May 23.
