BASEBALL
Marion Center continued its dominance of the Heritage Conference yesterday with a 15-3 trouncing of Cambria Heights. The Stingers scored nine runs in the first inning, with Landin Bennett, Ty Ryen, Dakota Bracken, TJ Lynn, and Skyler Olp all driving in runs. Olp was 3-for-5. Ryen hit a first-inning homer. Lynn, Black, Bennett, and Nick Pacconi each had two hits and Pacconi’s were both doubles. Parker Black went all five innings for the win, striking out eight.
Homer-Center blasted Bishop Carroll, 10-0. The Wildcats put up a run in the first, then scored five in the second inning. Braden Dunn had three hits and Owen Saiani two. Anthony Rowland gave up just three hits in four innings, with Michael Krejocic finishing up on the mound.
Northern Cambria clobbered Purchase Line, 18-3.
9-0 Marion Center will host 7-1 Northern Cambria this afternoon.
West Shamokin lost to Kiski Prep, 7-6.
SOFTBALL
Penns Hills beat Indiana, 11-10. Maggie Cunningham had two doubles for Indiana.
Cambria Heights topped Homer Center, 17-7.
Marion Center avenged an earlier loss to Northern Cambria with a 4-1 win.
