Both the Pitt football and basketball teams added prospects yesterday, although the football Panthers will have to wait a few years to get theirs.
Defensive tackle Jahsear Whittington of Imhotep Charter School in Philadelphia will be a junior this fall. He writes on his Twitter account that he is “4,444 % committed to Pitt.” He’s a 6-2, 255 pounder who Rivals.com ranks as the sixth best prospect in Pennsylvania in the Class of 2024.
The Pitt basketball team added former Ole Miss power forward Blake Hinson yesterday. He’s 6-7 and has not played since the 2019-20 season, when he averaged 10.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He transferred to Iowa State but missed the following season due to illness and sat out last season when the Cyclones changed coaches.
