SOFTBALL
Hannah Foust threw a no-hitter and struck out 16 batters as River Valley shut down United, 4-0, yesterday. Emmy Skirball and Madison Stutzman each had two hits for the Panthers and Tori Foust homered. River Valley scored two runs in the second inning, one in the fourth, and one in the seventh.
Northern Cambria jumped on Marion Center for three runs in the first inning and never looked back, beating the Stingers, 8-3. Ally Trybus was 2-for-3 with a home run and Jessica Krug also homered for the Colts. Laci Lanzendorfer, Kenzie Formeck, and Morgan Hassen also had two hits for Northern Cambria.

The Indiana Sr. High Track and Field teams returned to action Tuesday afternoon at home with both teams defeating Penn Trafford in a section meet.The girls were victorious by a score of 85.5 – 64.5. Senior Brenna Nutter and Junior Abbie Huey led the way for the girls winning two individual events. Nutter took first place in the pole vault (8-0) and the 100 hurdles (17.8). Huey won the 100 meters (12.4) and the 200 meters (26.0). Other individual event winners included Cadence Ullman (high jump – 4-10), Hannah Cowburn (300 hurdles – 55.3), and Emmy Davis (1600 meters – 6:06.2). The girls also swept the relays on the afternoon. Davis, Rachel Gill, Eve Kuzneski, and Belle Antonacci won the 4×800 (10:29.4). Ullman, Cowburn, Kate Mill, and Jillian Ranes won the 4×100 (53.0). And the 4×400 team of Huey, Ullman, Mill, and Kuzneski closed out the meet with a winning time of 4:18.0.The girls move to 2-3 on the season and 1-2 in section play.On the boys side the Indians won by the narrowest of margins by a score of 75-74.The boys were led by Freshman Stanford Webb, Senior Owen Putt, and Junior Jon Berzonsky who all won multiple events for the team. Webb continues to impress as a Freshman winning the long jump (21-3.5), the triple jump (39-11.25), and the high jump (5-10). Putt won both the 100 meters (11.4) and the 200 meters (23.0). Berzonsky took first in the 1600 meters (4:54.5) and the 3200 meters (11:18.1). Other individual event winners for the boys included Will Berzonsky (800 meters – 2:10.4), Jacob Gill (400 meters – 53.6), and Charlie Weber (pole vault – 13-0). In the relays the boys won the opening and closing races of the meet on the track. The team of W. Berzonsky, Jacob Killeen, Jacob Gill, and Seth Weaver won the 4×800 (9:10.8). Gill, Putt, Killeen, and W. Berzonsky closed out the meet with a win in the 4×400 (3:37.2) to secure a victory on the day where every point mattered.With the win the boys moved to 3-2 on the season and 2-1 in section play.Both teams will return to action next Wednesday when they travel to Norwin for another section meet.
