On Wednesday night, the Penns Manor School Board authorized the administration to make several hires for upcoming summer programs.
District administrators were given approval to hire teachers and instructional assistants for the extended school year, elementary school summer learning camp and high school credit recovery programs. The programs are seen as essential for the students to combat learning loss over the summer, but the programs have other purposes. Elementary principal Kristen Zeglen said the elementary summer learning camp will also help prep students for the next school year.
In other business, the board approved a dual enrollment agreement with Mount Aloysius College, a driver’s ed agreement with Canton Driving School, and the $7,175,403 ICTC Budget. The district’s share before Vocation Education subsidies is $382,287.
