The Indiana Area and Purchase Line school boards will both meet tonight, with a number of agenda items up for discussion by both boards.
The Indiana board meeting will be preceded by a meeting of the Policy & Personnel Committee. Among its agenda items is discussion of making the district’s Athletic Director a full-time position, and seeking board permission to post the job, which would also include student activities coordinator, website management, and assistance with safety. The committee will also consider the summer school positions, including a coordinator for the program.
The Indiana School Board as a whole, with a motion to approve the ICTC budget on its voting agenda. Indiana Area’s share of the $7.1 million budget would be determined by its student enrollment in ICTC.
The board will also discuss the creation of a “school climate” subcommittee on the agenda. Among other items is the hiring of a cross country head coach and fall and winter cheerleading coaches.
Purchase Line’s school board will also vote on the ICTC budget, of which the school district’s share would be $347,665. The agenda also includes a vote on a new varsity football coach as well as a head cheerleading coach and an assistant track coach.
Other items on an extensive agenda include approval of a $288,000 contract to resurface the track, $102,000 for the replacement of hot water storage tanks, and consideration of a number of revised policies related to student behavior and discipline.
