As more emergency oil reserves are being released, the average cost of a gallon of gas continues to go down in the U.S. and in Pennsylvania.
The national average, according to Triple-A, is now at $4.11 a gallon. While there has been no change in the average over the last 24-hours, it represents a seven cent decrease from last week, and a 22-cent decrease from last month. Pennsylvania’s average is now $4.21 a gallon. Again, that’s virtually unchanged since yesterday, but it’s a six-cent decrease from last week and a 22-cent decrease over the last month.
As of this morning, Indiana County’s average is $4.23 a gallon, which ties it with Armstrong County. The lowest averages among the surrounding counties are both Westmoreland and Cambria Counties at $4.22 a gallon. Clearfield County has a $4.24 a gallon average, while Jefferson County is the highest at $4.25 a gallon.
Pike county has the highest county-wide average in the state at $4.30 a gallon, while Carbon County has the lowest average at $4.11 a gallon.
According to GasBuddy.com, Gas Prices in Indiana and Clymer boroughs and White Township are at $4.23 a gallon. The Sheetz in Homer City is listed at $4.17 a gallon, while the Kwik Fill station is at $4.19. The lowest gas prices can be found in Blairsville at $4.15 a gallon.
