Indiana County’s first responders were busy on Thursday with several calls across the county.
After an electrical fire in Homer City Borough early in the morning, the Cherry Tree Fire Department was dispatched at 11:46 AM for a report of a tree down on Front Street in Cherry Tree Borough. At 2:01 PM, Clymer fire and police departments were called out, along with Citizen’s Ambulance, for a vehicle accident that was reported on Franklin Street. Details on the crash have not yet been released.
A possible structure fire was reported last night along old Indiana Road in Burrell Township at 6:08 PM. Black Lick, Blairsville, Coral-Graceton and Homer City fire departments were initially called out, along with Citizen’s Ambulance and the HAZMAT team. Black Lick fire officials said that a witness saw smoke coming out of windows in the house, but smoke was not present when fire crews got there. It was later determined that the homeowner had just started a fire in a wood burner, and the call was reclassified as a false alarm.
A vehicle accident was also reported yesterday on Route 240 in Green Township. Commodore and Clymer fire departments were called out, along with Citizen’s and State Police. Details on this incident have not been released.
