PSP-INDIANA
State police say no one was hurt in a vehicle crash last week on Route 119 in Center Township. Troopers say that the crash happened on 119 near the intersection with Lockard Avenue Extension. Police say 26-year-old Paul Harrington of St. Cloud, Florida, was backing out of a parking lot at the Chinese restaurant along 119 and ran into a light pole, causing it to fall over and break. After exiting the box truck he was driving and examining the damage, Harrington left the scene. Eyewitnesses were able to describe the truck and police found Harrington after an investigation. Charges were filed with District Judge Susanne Steffee.
A Blairsville woman was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence after an incident early Tuesday morning. State Police say that while on patrol in the area of Route 22 East and Mount Tabor Road in West Wheatfield Township at 1:28 in the morning when they saw someone committing several traffic violations and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, identified only as a 27-year-old Blairsville woman, was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Indiana Borough Police report that they are investigating a case of criminal mischief that happened March 27th to the 30th along South Sixth Street. Police say that Zion Lutheran Church reported that someone damaged a young cherry tree that was recently planted by the church. Police are investigating further, and ask anyone with information to call them at 724-349-2121.
