The chancellor of the State System of Higher Education paid a virtual visit to IUP today and held an open forum to update everyone on the status of the system.
During his remarks, Chancellor Dan Greenstein acknowledged that the financial stabilization process that the system is going through is difficult, but it did have its rewards.
During a question and answer session, the issue of retrenchment came up and even a rumor that 30 positions were set to be eliminated through retrenchment. IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll said that while there will be positions cut, it will not be through a wide-spread retrenchment process.
After the public session, the Chancellor held a private meeting over Zoom video chat with some members of the student body.
