BASKETBALL
The PIAA Basketball Committee yesterday recommended that member schools be surveyed to see whether or not they favor adding a shot clock. A survey by the Pennsylvania basketball Coaches Association shows 77 percent of coaches who responded want it, but the PIAA wants a broader sample size, especially considering that a set of shot clocks and the controller for them would cost around $10,000. Clock operators would also need to be trained. If approved, the shot clock would be added no sooner than the next two-year PIAA cycle, before the 2024-25 season. The committee will meet again on May 3rd, hoping to have the results of the survey by then.
