Police in Blairsville Borough charged a local woman with fleeing or eluding police in connection with a brief chase through the borough on March 18th.
Police say at 1:07 PM, officers saw a vehicle going North on North Walnut Street with a faulty passenger side headlight. Police tried to pull the vehicle over by activating the lights and siren on their patrol car. The suspect, later identified as 35-year-old Nicole Lickenfelt of Blairsville, accelerated to the Route 22 Westbound on-ramp, blew through the stop sign at Route 22 and 217, and then went onto 22. When she tried to turn left onto Auction Barn Road, she lost control of the car and hit a Do Not Enter sign, rendering the car inoperable. While police took Lickenfelt and a passenger into custody, officers noticed drug paraphernalia in plain sight. After obtaining a warrant, police found more paraphernalia in the car.
Along with the summary crimes and with fleeing or eluding, Lickenfelt was also charged with drug paraphernalia possession.
