The second night of IUPatty’s was relatively calm for law enforcement agencies.
According to IACT information officer Michelle Fryling, there have been no major incidents reported last night. IUP police did report 21 routine service calls and two patrols, along with two events. Those two events were the NCAA IUP Chapter event, and a welcome-home escort for the IUP Men’s Basketball Team as they returned home from Evansville, Indiana and the Elite 8 Tournament.
Indiana Borough Police reported 54 calls for service, 11 of them were IUP-related. Nine charges were filed, but no IUP students were charged. State Police reported no major disturbances or loud parties, but they did conduct over 100 traffic stops, make 11 DUI arrests including three drug related and two a combination of drugs and alcohol, and arrested four on drug possession charges.
The Emergency Management Agency did report some increased activity in the area of the Sheetz on Wayne Avenue, but the crowds dispersed without incident.
