The Pirates and Phillies were tied at 3 after five innings when rain halted play yesterday in Bradenton.
Mitch Keller threw three hitless, scoreless innings for the Bucs, with his rediscovered fastball touching 99.8 miles per hour. He walked one and struck out two, but again struggled to find the strike zone, throwing 42 pitches but just 23 of them for strikes. Pirates prospect Roansy Contreras gave up a two-run homer and a solo shot, too.
Pirates first baseman Yoshi Tsutsugo launched his first home run of the season, a 412-fot blast, and outfielder Greg Allen hit a 411-foot solo shot and drove in the other Pirates run with a single.
Bryse Wilson starts for the Pirates this afternoon against the Twins in Bradenton.
The Pirates yesterday signed 34 players to one-year contracts. Fifteen of them are position players and 19 are pitchers.

Veteran relief pitcher Andrew Miller retired yesterday after 16 major league seasons. Miller was the sixth overall pick in 2006 by the Detroit Tigers. He was a two-time All-Star and played last year for St. Louis.
