The IUP Crimson Hawks and Augusta State Jaguars were tied at 32-32 at halftime, but poor shooting plagued the Crimson Hawks and they bowed to the Jaguars, 76-61, in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight semifinals, ending a tremendous season for IUP.
IUP shot just 37 percent overall (22 of 59) and 22 percent (7 of 32) from 3-point territory, while Augusta shot 55 and 30 percent, respectively.
Tomiwa Sulaiman led IUP with 17 points.
Augusta won its 19th straight game, while IUP’s winning streak ended at 18. IUP, the PSAC and Atlantic Regional champions, finished with 33 wins, tying a team record.
