Indiana County’s court schedule will see the start of some trials and the end of some cases today.
Jury selection is set to begin today for two trial. One trial is for Brendan Richard Hazlett of Clune. The 23-year-old man is charged with statutory sexual assault of someone between the ages of four and eight. The other charge filed against him is corruption of minors. Both charges were filed on December 31st of 2018.
Jury selection will also be held today for 34-year-old Conan Henry of Windber, who faces three counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and two summary traffic charges connected with an incident on July 2nd of 2020.
A plea court hearing is also scheduled for today for a Smicksburg man who faces a charge of statutory sexual assault of someone between eight and 11 years old. Court documents say that Lewis Alabran was facing multiple counts of indecent assault and aggravated indecent assault connected with an incident in August of last year, but all but one charge was withdrawn last December.
Also, an Indiana man will be sentenced today on drug-related charges. 38-year-old William Francis Bausch III will be sentenced for guilty pleas to charges of possession of a controlled substance and of drug paraphernalia. The charges were filed on August 29th of 2020.
