The official start of the NFL year is at 4 PM today, and that’s also the time when teams can officially start signing free agents.
The Steelers have been busy in the two-day “legal tampering” period. On Monday, they came to contract agreements with quarterback Mitch Trubisky and offensive guard/center Mason Cole, and they also re-signed tackle Chuks Okorafor.
Yesterday, they continued to bolster the offensive line by agreeing to terms on a three-year deal with former bears guard/center James Daniels. They also came to an agreement with former Buffalo starting cornerback Levi Wallace.
The team also hired former North Carolina Central University offensive line coach Isaac Williams as assistant line coach.
The NFL also announced that the Steelers will receive a fourth-round compensatory draft pick, number 138 overall, as a result of free agent losses last season.
