Here’s Paul Steigerwald.
Coach Mike Sullivan says that despite the score, he thought the Pens played well.
In an effort to kick start the Evgeni Malkin line, Sullivan swapped right wing Bryan Rust from the Sidney Crosby line for Malkin’s right wing, Evan Rodrigues. He said afterward he liked the result.
Forward Zach Aston-Reese missed the game due to illness and defenseman Marcus Pettersson was a healthy scratch for the second straight game. Forward Brock McGinn also remained out of the lineup with an injury to his right arm or hand.
The Penguins play tomorrow night at St. Louis.
The team announced yesterday that they will honor Ben Roethlisberger before the March 29th game against the New York Rangers. Big Ben will also drop the ceremonial first puck. The team invited fans to bring their Terrible Towels to the game.
