IUP is one step away from a journey to Evansville, Indiana for the NCAA Elite Eight, but to get there, they have to defeat a very familiar opponent.

IUP has won 16 games in a row and is 31-2 on the season, the fourth 30-win season under coach Joe Lombardi.
IUP beat Cal, 84-71 on January 5th at Cal, then beat the Vulcans again, 87-79 at the KCAC on February 9th. The Crimson Hawks defeated Cal again last week, 70-64 in the PSAC quarterfinals.
