Having been beaten by first-place Carolina twice this season, the Penguins have one final regular season chance for a win over the Hurricanes this afternoon at PPG Paints Arena.
Yesterday, the Penguins called up forward Radim Zohorna from Wilkes Barre-Scranton and optioned rookie forward Valtteri Puustinen down to their top minor league team. Zohorna or benched forward Kasperi Kapanen could be given the opportunity to replace winger Brock McGinn, who was injured Friday night in the Penguins’ win over Las Vegas.
The Penguins also announced yesterday that they have signed forward Drew O’Connor to a one-year contract extension.
