On Thursday, the State House Appropriations Committee wrapped up its budget hearings, and state representative Jim Struzzi is not happy with the amount of spending that has been proposed by the Wolf administration.
The budget presented by Governor Tom Wolf came to $43.7 billion, which according to the chair of the House Appropriations Committee Stan Saylor, represents a 16.6% increase in spending. Struzzi said that the Governor’s plan is spending money that the state doesn’t necessarily have.
Struzzi also said that as the committee meets and discusses all the hearings that were held, they will have to factor in the fact that the world has changed drastically once again.
The Senate Appropriations Committee hearings will end next week.
