West Shamokin was knocked out of the tournament last night by Redbank Valley, which took advantage of cold shooting by the Wolves to take a 28-12 halftime lead and cruised to a 58-31 win.
West Shamokin shot only 5-of-16 from the field in the first two quarters at Clarion University. They were able to get no closer than 12 points behind in the second half as Redbank Valley followed a 10-0 run in the second quarter with a 12-0 run in the third. Bo Swartz led West Shamokin with 12 points.
Only the Homer-Center and River Valley girls teams remain alive in the state tournament.
Double-A Homer-Center will play tomorrow night at Gateway High School against Serra Catholic. You’ll hear it on WCCS, FM 101.1 and AM 1160, with the pregame at 7:10 and the game tipping off at around 7:30.
Triple-A River Valley will take on Chestnut Ridge at Greater Johnstown tomorrow, also on the air at 7:10 with tipoff at about 7:30 on Cat Country, 106.3 FM.
