On Wednesday night, the Penns Manor School board authorized the district administration to take part in a natural gas consortium.
The move came as an amendment to one of the items on the agenda proposed for last night. The administration will take part in the Allegheny Intermediate Unit Natural Gas Consortium. The district’s business manager will be able to directly negotiate a contract with Direct Energy Business for a 1-3 year term that will start in September of this year at a fixed price or NYMEX plus, whichever price is better for the district. The business manager will be the responsible contact for the district and appropriate board members will be able to sign the contract once it’s authorized before the next board meeting.
The board also approved a contract with C.M. Eichenlaub to furnish and install certified parts for the high school’s bleachers at a cost of $5,880 and a contract with Frontline Education to provide an absence and substitute management program for the next school year at a cost of $5,135.34.
