State police in Indiana have issued reports on three accidents that happened last week, one of which resulted in serious injuries to a motorcycle operator on Wednesday evening in Center Township. Police say 21-year-old Zachariah Green of Ebensburg lost control of his cycle on Route 286 just west of Ream Road, leaving the highway on a left curve and striking the guiderails. The motorcycle ended up underneath the guiderails.
Green was wearing a helmet. He was flown by Life Flight helicopter to Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville.
There was another accident on Wednesday, at 7:19 in the morning at Route 210 and Rossmoyne Road in South Mahoning Township. Police say a pickup truck driven by 57-year-old Charles Desanto of Brookville, Jefferson County, skidded out of control on an icy patch of highway, overturning as it slid off the berm. Desanto was not injured.
State police in Punxsutawney say an Indiana County man is facing driving under the influence charges after a motorcycle crash on Friday in Burnside Borough, Clearfield County. 26-year-old Tyler Wetzel of Cherry Tree lost control of his bike and laid it down on Second Street shortly after 6 PM. He was taken to the Clearfield County Jail, and is charged with DUI/unsafe driving, resisting arrest, and four summary offenses.
