Congratulations today to United High School graduate Michaela Bracken, who broke her own school record in the pentathlon on Saturday for Bucknell at the Patriot League track & field championships, winning the 800 meters and breaking the school’s high jump record.
Bracken is an inspiring story. Her grandfather told her before his death in 2017 that one day she would jump her own height. She is five feet seven. Her record jump on Saturday was five feet eight. She followed it up with a jump of 5-5 yesterday.
Bracken is the Bucknell team captain and leads the Women’s Track & Field Bible Study through the InterVarsity campus ministry.
