The IUP basketball teams will take the court tomorrow for their final regular season games, welcoming UPJ to the KCAC. The airtime on 92.5 FM U92 will be 12:45, with the women tipping off at one o’clock and the men to follow.
Last night, on Hawk Talk on U92, men’s coach Joe Lombardi talked about the resilience of his team after losing leading scorer Shawndale Jones for the season early in December, Tommy Demogerontis for a long stretch of games in January and February, and having to play their two biggest opponents, Slippery Rock and Cal, with no fans in the stands.
Lombardi says it’s a tribute to his players that they responded so well.
The IUP men will get a first round bye in the PSAC playoffs. The women will play Monday night.
