On Wednesday night, the White Township Supervisors discussed helping out a community garden group with an access alley near the group’s garden.
Township Manager Chris Anderson said that the request came from the Chevy Chase Food Forest Committee to look at an alleyway that runs near Kennedy King Park that they will use to access the garden, but has become rutted and messy. The group wanted to see if it was possible for the township to put some gravel down to help level out the road. Some of the township supervisors suggested that instead of laying gravel, the township could contribute some swept up anti-skid for that purpose. Anderson said that using that along with some other materials could be a good idea.
Anderson says the issue will be researched further.
In other business, the supervisors approved spending up to $500 to construct an informational kiosk at the entrance of White’s Woods. The board also approved accepting a donation of $1800 from the Indiana Baseball Boosters for a new sound system for Keystone Rehab Field at the White Township Rec Complex.
