At their meeting this morning, the Indiana County Commissioners approved three major maintenance projects for some of the county-owned properties.
Commissioners approved a $73,000 agreement with Derume Dunkel Roofing for a roofing project at the county’s offices at 801 Water Street, the installation of two boilers by Huckestein Mechanical at the County Jail at a cost of $388,116, and an agreement with Huckestein for HVAC work at the county courthouse for $895,899. County Commissioners Chairman Mike Keith said that these projects are just some of the many projects that need to be done to bring the county’s facilities into good working order.
In other business, the board approved a project to not exceed $25,000 with Higher Information Group to scan old election results that date back to 1919 and have them saved digitally. The county also wants to do that with the minute books on hand, which go back to the late 1800’s.
The Commissioners also named February as Career and Technical Education Month and March as Intellectual Disabilities Awareness Month.
