Firefighters from Cherryhill Township, Clymer, Commodore, and Pine Township were summoned yesterday afternoon to the Spiritlife Recovery Center, off Route 422 in Cherryhill Township for a reported structure fire.
Cherryhill Township Fire Chief Jody Rainey arrived on the scene and reported no fire was showing, but staff had found smoke in one of the buildings. Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to check for hot spots and eventually determined the source of the smoke was a malfunctioning toaster.
The building was ventilated by opening the windows and all fire companies returned to their stations.
