Ithiel Horton started for the first time this season and hit seven three-pointers on his way to 25 points as Pitt snapped a four-game losing streak to beat Florida State, 56-51. Horton’s season was interrupted by legal problems after he was charged in November with assaulting a police officer. The case has been resolved and he has been working his way back into form.
Jamarius Burton scored 13 points for Pitt, coming alive with 11 of the Panthers’ final 15 down the stretch at the end of the game, and Mouhamadou Guey had eight blocks.
The Panthers are 9-16 and 4-10 in the ACC. They’ll play next on Saturday at home against NC State.
