The IUP basketball teams tangled with Cal U last night at the KCAC, once more without fans, and both games were very close.
Jack Benedict has the recap.
IUP women’s coach Tom McConnell says the character of the game changed after Cal switched to a zone defense, and IUP did not adjust well.
With two games against Slippery Rock in three days followed by Cal last night, men’s coach Joe Lombardi says his team held up well.
The IUP women have six games left in the regular season and the men have five. They’re together again on Saturday at Gannon. The women will play Monday night in a makeup game at the KCAC against Slippery Rock, and after playing on the road next Wednesday, both teams are back at the KCAC on Saturday the 19th. After not permitting fans in the arena this week, IUP has not yet announced whether or not fans will be allowed back in next week.
Coaches Tom McConnell and Joe Lombardi are scheduled to join Jack Benedict tonight for Hawk Talk at 6 PM from the CH Field Craft Kitchen at the Hilton Garden Inn. You can attend in person, listen on 92.5 FM U92, or watch the show on Renda Digital TV on the U92 YouTube channel, which you can find at U92Radio.com.
