A proposed new location for Dunkin’ Donuts in Indiana Borough was discussed at length at Tuesday’s Indiana Borough Council meeting.
The location for Dunkin’ Donuts is near the intersection of 5th and Philadelphia Street. Developers made requests during committee meetings for several variances, including moving a tree and a streetlight pole, a request to take out four parking spaces, and to cut away a portion of a curb for a driveway for the property.
So far, according to borough manager Nicole Sipos, the only thing approved for the project is permission to have parking in the front and sides of the building, but Sipos expects council to take up the parking space issue next meeting among others.
In other business, council extended an officer to Noah Miller to fill a vacancy on the borough police force created by the recent retirement of John Scherf. Pending a successful background check, Miller will start March 1st.
