The United school board tonight will vote on a motion to approve the ’22-’23 school calendar. The ARIN budget for the next school year is also up for consideration. United’s share would be $34,771. The board will also vote on advertising for a request for proposals for the food service management contract.
The appointment of coaches for a number of sports teams will be voted upon, including Kevin Marabito for varsity football. United will merge its program with Blacklick Valley’s this year and compete under the United banner. The board will consider two assistant varsity coaches and a Junior High coach as well. Coaches and their staffs will be named for boys and girls cross country and soccer, and an assistant softball coach will also be named.
Also under personnel, the board will vote on approving musical director Michelle Dunn and her staff. And there are a number of other personnel items involving faculty and other staff. Those items include the retirement of Junior/Senior High guidance counselor Mary Jane Short.
The River Valley school board has a busy week planned, including a meeting of the buildings & grounds committee tonight; and then on Thursday the finance committee meets at 5:30, followed by a special voting meeting of the full board at 6:30. The district has not said what that meeting will be about.
