Emergency crews were busy yesterday afternoon and this morning with several different calls.
At 1:59 PM, Marion Center and Plumville firefighters were called out for a flue fire on Weaver Road in East Mahoning Township. Perry Township and Rural Valley fire departments would be called in to assist on the scene. Marion Center fire officials said that the fire did spread from the flue to the ceiling of the home. No word yet on the extent of the damage.
Two vehicle fires were reported yesterday. The first at 3:08 PM along Coal Run Road in Young Township, with Coal Run fire department dispatched at the time. Meanwhile, Armagh Fire Department was dispatched to Keck Street in Westmoreland County to assist with a car fire there.
Fire crews were also called out late last night and early this morning as basements started to flood. The first basement pumping detail was reported at a home along Route 553 in Pine Township at 9:50 PM. Pine Township fire department was called out for that incident. At 1:07 this morning, Indiana Fire Association was called for pumping detail on South 5th Street in Indiana Borough. And Homer City fire fighters were called out at 1:37 this morning for basement pumping along Ridge Avenue in Homer City Borough.
