The approaching winter storm has forced a number of postponements on today’s basketball schedule, including two key games on The Road to the KCAC (Presented by First Commonwealth Bank).
Tonight’s Cambria Heights/United boys game is postponed. So is the game between West Shamokin’s boys and Purchase Line. United is a game ahead of West Shamokin for the top spot in the Heritage Conference West, but the Lions have a tougher game against Cambria Heights, which will finish as the second team in the East. If the Lions win, they will clinch the division and play the Highlanders again on Monday in the semifinals. No makeup date has been announced.
Tonight’s West Shamokin at River Valley girls game is postponed until tomorrow night. If the River Valley girls win that game, they clinch the second spot in the Heritage Conference West and earn a spot in the semis on Tuesday. The United at Homer Center girls game tonight is also postponed, with no reschedule date yet announced. United must upset the Wildcats and hope for a River Valley loss to West Shamokin to remain on The Road to the KCAC.
