On Monday evening, the Indiana School Board approved updates to the health and safety plan that will help bring the district into line with CDC and state Department of Health guidelines for Covid-19.
One of those changes was the shortening of quarantine periods for those exposed to Covid-19, and according to District Superintendent Michael Vuckovich, the district was waiting to see if the CDC would change the guidelines after they shortened the quarantine guidelines to five days.
Other changes to the health and safety plan include masking requirements for students who are exposed to Covid-19 and are not showing symptoms. Students and teachers would have to wear masks for ten days from their last exposure, monitoring for symptoms and isolate if symptoms start to show. The Covid-19 Dashboard was also changed to allow for a 10-day rolling count instead of a 14-day count.
