The Penguins winning streak came to an end last night with an improbable home ice overtime loss to the expansion Seattle Kraken.
Paul Steigerwald has the story.

TEAM NOTES:
Penguins general manager Ron Hextall said yesterday he has held talks with the agents for pending free agents Kris Letang and Evgeni Malkin, who have both played their entire careers in Pittsburgh. Other key members of the Penguins who are scheduled to become unrestricted free agents include high-scoring wingers Bryan Rust and Evan Rodrigues, and steady defenseman Chad Ruhwedel, who is finally a part of the defensive rotation after years as a fill-in player.
Veteran hockey reporter Frank Seravalli said yesterday on The Daily Faceoff that Penguins forward Drew O’Connor is recovering from a collapsed lung. O’Connor left the January 15th game at San Jose and Seravalli said he was having trouble breathing. He said that with a collapsed lung, O’Connor could not fly back with the team when they returned from Las Vegas two days later and had to endure a two-day drive across the country. He is on long-term injured reserve and coach Mike Sullivan refused to comment on his medical condition yesterday.
The Penguins host the Red Wings tonight at PPG Paints Arena. Airtime on 92.5 FM U92 is 6:00.
