It’s a big week of college basketball action for the IUP teams, starting tonight at UPJ.
The 17th-ranked IUP women are 11-3, but those three losses are all in the PSAC, so it’s a key game for IUP. After a loss last week, they will likely fall in the national rankings. UPJ’s women are 6-10, and 4-6 in the conference.
The men’s game is a battle for first place in the PSAC West. UPJ is 13-3, and 9-1 in the conference. IUP is also 9-1 in the conference, and 15-1 overall. The Crimson Hawks are ranked sixth nationally in the NABC coaches poll.
The airtime tonight for the women’s game is 5:15, with the men’s game to follow on 92.5 FM U92.
After tonight, the IUP teams play two doubleheaders at home, on Wednesday against Edinboro and on Saturday against Mercyhurst.
Then next Monday, the two teams will split. The women will play a makeup game at Cal while the men will play host to Slippery Rock.
