The Indiana Area and Marion Center school boards both are scheduled to meet tonight. Indiana Area’s agenda includes voting by the full board on three proposals for the elementary school configuration.
One proposal would create three elementary schools consisting of two PreK through grade three at East Pike and Ben Franklin and one school for grades 4 and 5 at Eisenhower.
A second proposal would create three PreK through grade 5 schools at Ben Franklin, East Pike, and Eisenhower.
The final proposal would maintain the current configuration of the four elementary schools, with Ben Franklin and East Pike teaching grades PreK through three and Eisenhower and Horace Mann teaching grades four and five. That proposal also includes the restoration of Eisenhower following last year’s fire.
The board will then vote on a contract with the district’s architect to do the design and bidding for the work on whichever configuration is selected.
There will also be votes on the HVAC replacement at the administrative offices and the Old East Pike office renovations, and a host of personnel items.
At Marion Center, the combined meeting agenda has a number of personnel items, including requests for time off and the hiring of bus drivers and a custodian. There is also a vote scheduled on a four-year Administrative Compensation Plan.
