Four fire companies were on the scene of a structure fire on Sunday in Clymer Borough.
Indiana County 911 reported the fire on Dixon Road at 10:17 AM. That’s when Clymer, Commodore, Cherryhill Township and Hope fire departments were dispatched along with Citizen’s Ambulance and the county’s Rapid Intervention team. Initial reports said the fire was in the 1600 block of Dixon, and was a one-story single dwelling fire, with the fire showing on the front porch.
Clymer Fire Chief John Gromley said that the fire was contained to front porch and was started by a lithium battery on a weed-eater. The residents, who were not identified, were given permission to return, but they may have stayed with relatives. No injuries were reported.
