Robert Earl Thomas, 79 of Derry, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at his home.
He was born November 02, 1942 in Wilkinsburg, PA. Robert had attended the Grace Bible Church. He retired from the United Mine Workers of America. He has served in the PA Army National Guard and was Vice President of the Burrell Twp. Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed motorcycles, shooting and hunting.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Paterson McClarren, Torrance, PA; daughter, Theresa Simms, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Vicki Shellgren & husband, Luke, Confluence, PA; daughter, Kathleen Thomas, Latrobe, PA; son, Michael Thomas & wife, Jacqueline, Latrobe, PA; 25 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; sister, Arlene Jones, Torrance, PA; brother, Richard Thomas, Derry, PA; sister-in-law, Sandy Thomas, Pittsburgh, PA; brother-in-law, Norm Simko, Torrance, PA and also several Nieces & Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Simko and grandson, Jackson Thomas.
The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on January 24, 2022 from 3-6 PM. A funeral service will be held at 6 PM with Pastor Jay Losier officiating. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.
