After a day off for Martin Luther King Junior Day, the Indiana County Courts reopen for several summary trials and other hearings, including a hearing for a man convicted of indecent assault.
A post-sentence motions hearing is set for today for 44-year-old Jeremy Chadwich Johnson of Homer City. He was convicted on June 23rd of last year on five counts each of indecent assault and harassment, along with a single count of corruption of minors for incidents back in 2016. The victim said in February of that year, her family and Johnson’s family spent the day mourning the death of a family member. Later that day, he touched the victim several times in an inappropriate manner despite her objection to the advances. The victim came forward after Johnson moved out of state.
Johnson was sentenced last November to serve nine months to a day less than two years in county jail, three years of probation and must register as a Meghan’s Law offender for the rest of his life.
