The Hoodlebug Trail is set to receive some funding from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to help with the construction of a bridge over Route 22.
The grant is part of $70 million that the Wolf Administration is awarding to 317 projects across the commonwealth. The grant comes from DCNR’s Partnerships Program, which is funded through the Keystone Fund, the Environmental Stewardship Fund, fees for ATV and snowmobile licenses, and federal money.
Indiana County will receive $230,000, which has been earmarked for a portion of the Hoodlebug Trail in Burrell Township. The money will be used to build a pedestrian bridge over Route 22 that connects the corporate campus business park to the PennDOT Park and Ride lot. Money will also be used for ADA access, landscaping, signs and other related site improvements.
