Bad weather conditions are being blamed for a multi-vehicle collision this morning on Route 22 in Burrell Township.
The crash was reported at 9:35 AM by Indiana County 911 and happened between the intersections with Jughandle Road/Palmerton Road and Palmer Road/Penn View Road on Route 22. The Black Lick and Blairsville fire departments were initially called to the scene, along with Citizens Ambulance and State Police. Clyde Fire Department was called out to provide traffic control assistance. PennDOT was also called out to assist with the road closure while crews were on-scene.
Fire officials on scene confirmed at least six vehicles were involved in the crash, and they said the cause of the crash was the foggy conditions along that stretch of road. Officials also ask drivers to continue to remain cautious as that part of 22 is still foggy at this time.
The road reopened at 11:15 this morning, after crews were on-scene for about an hour and 40 minutes.
