The Pirates have hired their first-ever uniformed female coach. 26-year-old Caitlyn Callahan, a former college softball player, announced on her LinkedIn profile yesterday that she has accepted a position with the Pirates as a development coach in their minor league system.
Callahan has spent the last two seasons working in the Reds’ organization as a minor league video and baseball technology intern. She also has front office experience with two other minor league teams.
