The Marion Center School Board on Monday night approved a revision to the district’s health and safety plan concerning students who are considered close contacts with those infected with Covid-19.
The modification will allow students identified as a close contact to remain in school as long as they do not exhibit symptoms connected with Coronavirus. Also, staff and students who are currently in quarantine and are not exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 will be allowed to return to school. Those who are symptomatic are required to remain in quarantine according to CDC guidelines for the required length of time. Masks will remain optional but recommended within the school per the health and safety plan, while masks are mandatory on all school buses per federal mandates.
In an announcement on the district’s website, Marion Center officials are continuing to ask parents to monitor their children for symptoms and keep them home if they feel sick. The updated health and safety plan is now on the district’s website, www.mcasd.net.
