The Pirates made some coaching hires. Andy Haines as their new hitting coach- he had been with the Brewers the last three years.
Haines career as a hitting coach took off in 2005 when he was named as the hitting coach of the Gary SouthShore Railcats by new manager Greg Tagert. The Railcats immediately won the Northern League championship.
Mike Rabelo will take over as the Bucs’ new third base coach- Rabelo will continue as field coordinator as well.
