Pitt signed 12 recruits on early signing day.
Penn State had 23, including nine from Pennsylvania. Pundits are calling it a Top 10 class.
Admittedly the Panthers have 87 players currently on scholarship, so perhaps not as many scholarships to give, and the signing class isn’t officially finalized until February. Also of note, Penn State head football coach’s James Franklin’s 10-year extension, as compared to Narduzzi’s contract, which although said to be in the process of extension, lasts only three more years.
But the big signing news was from Deion Sanders and Jackson State, as the FCS program lured Travis Hunter, rated the top football prospect in the country, to the fold. Hunter flipped from Florida State. It likely marks a new era in college football where players want to go to the place where their brand can be marketed.
